2nd Iranian Trade Conference, London
At the beginning of November, the 2nd Iran Trade Conference was held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, organised by City & Financial Global. 200 participants from business, the banking world and politics discussed current and future possibilities for trade cooperation with Iran.
In their opening addresses, both the British Trade Minister Liam Fox and the Iranian Ambassador to the United Kingdom H.E. Hamid Baeidinejad expressed their confidence that the trade relations between the two countries would return to normal following the resumption of diplomatic relations between Great Britain and Iran in September 2016.
The biggest challenge in the settlement of Iran transactions is at present the transfer of payments, since the local banks in Great Britain currently show the greatest restraint in the support of Iran business.
In the ensuing panel meetings, eihbank, as a podium guest, informed about the bank’s current options to assist British companies in trade with Iran.
